Clarification: Abu Dhabi Is Not Offering A 50% Discount On Traffic Fines

If it sounds too good to be true, chances are it’s not real. Abu Dhabi residents know that there is an existing scheme for traffic discounts and it’s not over 35%. And yet, a rumour on social media had people guessing.
Abu Dhabi Police denied a rumour that claimed there is a 50% discount on traffic fines
There was a rumour circulating on social media that said drivers can get 50% off on traffic fines from specific dates. Abu Dhabi Police quickly took to their official social media pages to debunk this rumour.

There is an existing scheme for discounts on traffic violations in Abu Dhabi that the police also highlighted in a tweet
There’s a 35% discount on fines if it’s paid within 60 days from the date of committing the violation (with the exception of serious violations). A 25% discount can also be availed when the fine is paid between 60 days and up to one year after the violation is issued. Any time after that, the violation must be paid in full.
“Ensure the accuracy of information before sharing them. Rely only on official media sources,” Police said.
