Avatar

2017 was hands down the year of Salt Bae.

From meagre beginnings, Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe is now one of the world’s most instantly recognisable chefs with 12 restaurants to his name.

And what began from a simple salt sprinkle has lead Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe to almost 10 million followers on Instagram and a huge celeb following…

Believe it or not, this is where it all began (and it’s been a rollercoaster year since)

And there are murals of his image

That’s just a tiny glimpse of his crazy year

And while his Instagram is usually flooded with celeb visits, this week he gave us an insight into his tough childhood and long road to success.

Where it all began
