In Al Ain, there’s a mountain that stands over 1,200 meters tall, offers breathtaking views of the landscape and the city below and that mountain is none other than Jebel Hafeet. So, if you’re looking for a spot to catch breathtaking views, well then you better head over to Jebel Hafeet during sunset for a view you’ll never forget!
In 2011, UNESCO recognised the Jebel Hafeet Desert Park area as a vital component of the World Heritage Site of Al Ain. So, this park was the UAE’s first World Heritage Site. Jebel Hafeet Desert Park occupies a 9 km stretch of land with beautiful natural surrounds where you can hike, mountain bike, or enjoy a horse / camel ride!
Additionally, you can discover fascinating archaeological and historical remains from the Neolithic period from 8,000 years ago to the 5,000 year old Jebel Hafit Tombs. Fun fact: the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Founding Father of the UAE, requested the excavation in 1959.
This is your sign to make those road trip plans and head over to the top of Jebel Hafeet to catch the sun set over the beautiful city of Al Ain. Just look at these images via @archa_927, @aiza09171989, and @witsandnuts!
