Beach-Goers Should Be Wary Of Venomous Sea Snakes In Abu Dhabi

With the weather getting cooler, people are flocking to the beach to enjoy the breeze and the sea. However, the people’s safety is the nation’s priority so Abu Dhabi issued a warning to beach-goers regarding sea snakes.

The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi urges beach-goers to stay vigilant and avoid sea snakes

Sea Snakes are a venomous species and they inhabit open and shallow waters, coral reefs and beaches. Although they are venomous they only bite when provoked or scared. Furthermore, beach-goers should avoid them and avoid touching one even if it appears dead.

This species tend to gather during the winter months when the temperature drops below 22 °C. Additionally, that is the reason they tend to appear at beaches in Abu Dhabi.

On January 1, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation officially announced the opening of the registration for the unemployment insurance scheme.
