So, say goodbye to travel documents and long lines&#8230; Now you can enjoy automated registration, self-service baggage delivery, and facial recognition at e-gates and boarding gates.<\/p>\n<h2>Abu Dhabi Airports is launching the next phase to introduce biometric systems for five more airlines at check-in, all boarding gates, and new e-gates in transit areas<\/h2>\n<p>Abu Dhabi Airports partnered with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security to introduce the biometric Smart Travel project based on biometric standards at Zayed International Airport. In partnership with Next 50, the project will be rolled out in three phases to integrate biometric authentication systems across all airport security and operations touchpoints.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-10403\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.lovin.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/07\/22171946\/abu-dhabi-airports-large.png\" alt=\"abu dhabi airports\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.lovin.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/07\/22171946\/abu-dhabi-airports.png 700w, https:\/\/cdn.lovin.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/07\/22171946\/abu-dhabi-airports-medium.png 250w, https:\/\/cdn.lovin.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2024\/07\/22171946\/abu-dhabi-airports-120x60.png 120w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>The future expansion also includes the Etihad Airways lounge and duty-free retail outlets<\/h2>\n<p>Andrew Murphy, Chief Information Officer at Zayed International Airport, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We are delighted to collaborate with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security to implement this groundbreaking project at our state-of-the-art terminal at Zayed International Airport. We are dedicated to enhancing the traveller experience by providing efficient and seamless services through advanced biometric systems.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;By 2025, we aim to expand these systems across all security and operations touchpoints and other airlines.
