A pearl was recently discovered in Abu Dhabi’s Marawah Island, dating all the way back to 5,800 to 5,600 BC.<\/p>\n

History continues to be discovered in our neighbouring Emirate’s island that was once the ground where a Stone Age village once sat. The gemstone is believed to be 8,000-years old and was found on the Marawah Island, just off the coast of Mirfa town, a good 170-kilometre drive west of Abu Dhabi city.<\/p>\n

Archaeologists say this could be evidence that pearl trades existed earlier than what was originally thought<\/h2>\n

The oldest known natural pearl in the world was discovered by DCT archaeologists who had been working at a Neolithic site on the Marawah Island.<\/p>\n
