The man who bought the number 1 licence plate in Abu Dhabi has been jailed for three years after writing a dud cheque, and the Abu\u00a0Dhabi Court of Appeals has upheld the ruling.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Emirati man, who bid AED31 million for the coveted number plate <\/a>reportedly wrote out the cheque, which bounced due to insufficient funds.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The matter was reported to authorities, who questioned the man, who confessed that he knew when he issued the cheque, that it would bounce.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Emirati man confessed that he was planning to sell the number plate at a later date for a profit.\u00a0<\/p>\n The man has had his three-year sentence upheld.\u00a0<\/p>\n
