The Red Sea has some fish to die for, and you owe it to yourself to try some of the best fish Aqaba has to offer. Here’s a handy quick guide for some places you should consider:
Captain’s is one of those places that’s like the all-you-can-eat buffet in your neighborhood. It has good food and a timeless attraction that gets the food and nostalgia juices flowing.
It’s a nice little seaside retreat that has a surprising amount of menu variety. Try it on your next stop in town!
You can’t really go wrong with this one, nestled in the (honestly beautiful) Mövenpick Hotel. It’s pricey, but the food’s worth it!
What can be said about this one that hasn’t been said already? There’s a reason why, when you ask the local Aqabians, they point to it.
If you’re the type that likes to experiment with street food, mostly because you know the risks are well worth the rewards, then Al-Shami is the place for you. As an added bonus, it’s really clean, so the risk factor goes out the window!
Local Red Sea fish, paired with Japanese sushi, is a match made in heaven, and I will fight you on this.
Al Shatt, or the coast in English, deserves its name with this tranquil seaside paradise. The grilled Sultan Ibrahim is amazing.
This has become a default option for the old souls in Aqaba, but don’t let that stop you from experiencing one of Aqaba’s best Italian places, specifically Sicilian food. Yes, the type of Italian food with a lot of sea fish. Now get out of here.
Yes, it’s Ali Baba. What did you think? We were going to make a list without this street classic. Try it at least once so you can officially say you’ve been to Aqaba.
