BREAKING: Hope Probe Paused And New Launch Date Announced
JUST IN: The Hope Probe take off has been paused until Friday.
The Emirates Mars Mission, which was due for takeoff today has been postponed. The Emirates Space Agency has announced the launch will now take place this FRIDAY, July 17 at 12:43 am UAE time from Tanegashima Space Center.
The launch has been pushed back due to weather conditions
The UAE Space Agency and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, have announced a delay of the Emirates Mars Mission’s Hope Probe launch due to the weather conditions at the launch site of Tanegashima Island in Japan.

The UAE will attempt to be the first EVER Arab nation to reach Mars
The probe aims to understand climate dynamics and the global weather map through characterizing the lower atmosphere of Mars
It will aim to explain how the weather changes the escape of Hydrogen and Oxygen through correlating the lower atmosphere conditions with the upper atmosphere and understand the structure and variability of Hydrogen and Oxygen in the upper atmosphere, as well as identifying why Mars is losing them into space.
The UAE’s space mission, the Arab world’s first interplanetary mission, will launch on Friday July 17, 2020 at 12:43am UAE time (July 16, 2020 at 8:43pm GMT) from Tanegashima Space Center in Japan.
