Deputy Prime Minister Receives Calls From US, UK, Swedish Counterparts

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi received phone calls on Sunday night from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron, as well as holding discussions with Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom. The conversations primarily focused on the urgent need for de-escalation in the region, particularly in light of the recent escalation in Gaza.

Safadi and Blinken emphasized the necessity of preventing further escalation, advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza, and ensuring the immediate and adequate delivery of humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip. They also highlighted the importance of ending aggression on Gaza and swiftly moving towards implementing a two-state solution to prevent future escalations.

Similarly, Safadi and Cameron stressed the imperative for concerted efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and prevent the conflict from spreading regionally. They reiterated the international community’s responsibility to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and halt the ongoing aggression.
