Jordan, alongside Egypt, U.S, and France, orchestrated an airdrop of more than 36,000 meals into northern Gaza on Tuesday.

This marks the second humanitarian effort led by Amman since Saturday, following a previous drop of approximately 38,000 meals in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The purpose of these airdrops, conducted by Jordan and its allies, is to supplement the insufficient aid being transported by ground to Gaza. Concerns have been raised by the United Nations and associated aid organizations regarding the imminent threat of famine in the area.

In a statement released on Tuesday, it was announced that the Jordanian Armed Forces, in collaboration with US Central Command and the Royal Jordanian Air Force, executed a joint humanitarian assistance airdrop into northern Gaza on March 5, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. (Gaza time) with the aim of providing essential relief to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
