King Abdullah and President El-Sisi Meet In Amman

In a meeting in Amman on Monday, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Considering the humanitarian catastrophe, starvation, and devastation of livelihoods in the besieged region, they emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and consultations on regional and international issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The leaders called on the international community to ensure the unrestricted delivery of adequate humanitarian aid into the sector to alleviate the suffering of those affected. El-Sisi and King Abdullah reiterated their opposition to the displacement of Palestinians outside the territories and reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution. This solution envisions the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the foundation for a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue.
