King Abdullah II Inaugurates King Hussein Cancer Centre in Aqaba!

Good news for cancer patients in southern Jordan! His Majesty King Abdullah II just inaugurated the new King Hussein Cancer Centre (KHCC) building in Aqaba, making life-saving treatment more accessible to those who need it most.

What’s the Big Deal?

Up until now, many cancer patients from the south had to travel long distances to Amman for treatment. But with this brand-new, state-of-the-art facility, they can now get top-tier care closer to home, family, and support systems.

This four-floor center, built at a cost of JD15 million, includes:

-Chemotherapy & radiology departments
-An early detection unit (because early diagnosis saves lives!)
-Oncology clinics, a laboratory, and a pharmacy
-100 medical & support staff—all from the local community!

A Vision Turned Reality

During the opening ceremony, Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Centre, emphasized that this new branch is part of His Majesty’s vision to expand cancer care across Jordan. She also highlighted that KHCC continues to treat cancer patients from Gaza, ensuring they receive proper medical care until they can return home safely.

Aqaba Governor Khaled Hajjaj, who is also a cancer survivor treated at KHCC, shared how this new center will save patients time, effort, and travel costs, while also boosting medical tourism in the area.

At the event, King Abdullah II honored donors and institutions that contributed to this incredible project. The inauguration was attended by HRH Prince Hussein bin Talal, top government officials, and key healthcare figures.

This isn’t just a hospital—it’s a beacon of hope for thousands of cancer patients. With this new center in Aqaba, Jordan continues to set the standard for cancer treatment in the region, proving once again that accessible, world-class healthcare is a priority.
