Update: Jordanian Citizen Rescued after Attack on UN Vehicle in Rafah by Israel

Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that, following royal directives, a Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF) aircraft will be dispatched to transport Yara Dababneh, a Jordanian citizen, out of Gaza. Dababneh was injured in the aftermath of an Israeli airstrike targeting a United Nations vehicle in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Dababneh, who is part of the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in Gaza sustained injuries during the attack
The attackalso claimed the life of another UN staff member with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been actively coordinating with the UNDSS to ensure her safe transfer.

Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudahconfirmed that Dababneh’s is being transported to Jordan for further treatment at Al-Hussein Medical City
This follows the Ministry’s earlier condemnation of the attack on the UN vehicle, with the Ministry stating that they “held Israel accountable for the safety of UN personnel and underscored the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law.”
