Wsam Alkhresheh’s Epic Gulf Road Trip: Culture, Kilometers, and Quirky Borders!

Jordanian travel blogger and digital creator Wsam Alkhresheh recently embarked on an epic road trip across several Gulf countries, sharing his vibrant experiences with followers. From immersing himself in Omani Bedouin culture to navigating thousands of kilometers, Wsam’s journey was packed with discovery and genuine hospitality.

Kicking off his adventure, Wsam Alkhresheh found himself charmed by the Omani Bedouin culture in Bidiya. He dove right in, trying on traditional headwear, savoring local tea, and even observing the fascinating preparation of traditional drinks. His playful spirit shone through as he joked about Omani sheikhs preparing camels and enjoying tea that ‘doesn’t get wasted,’ even asking for his tea with extra froth – a true sign of embracing the local vibe!

The journey itself was no small feat! Wsam revealed he drove over 3,000 kilometers from Muscat, Oman, all the way back to Jordan, crossing multiple borders and cities. He meticulously tracked his car’s fuel consumption and travel time, making pit stops at key locations. At his ‘first station,’ he filled up with 44.145 liters of fuel for 10.149 Omani Riyals, roughly 18 Jordanian Dinars. His drive took him through the vast ‘Empty Quarter road‘ in Saudi Arabia, where he found the ‘only station’ for another refill.

After days of relentless driving, Wsam finally arrived in Oman, where he was greeted with incredible warmth and kindness. But the real head-scratcher came with his discovery of one of the world’s ‘weirdest borders.’ He found himself ‘inside the UAE’ and then, magically, ‘inside Oman without a passport’ – all thanks to Wilayat Madha. This Omani territory is completely surrounded by the Emirates, yet it operates under Omani laws and prices. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any stranger, Wsam pointed out that within this Omani enclave, there’s actually an Emirati village called Nahwa! Talk about a geographical puzzle, beautifully showcasing the intricate ties between these neighboring nations.
