But I was proven wrong food was exceptionally delicious and really worth it, was served by Akthem and he was very attentive to us the whole time patiently explained items on the menu. The food we ordered was good, but I wouldn’t think it’s worth the full menu price. We might be back for happy hour though, especially when wanting a quiet date. There wasn’t anything spectacular about where they seated us, but it was chilly outside and they were clearly setting up for their evening event so maybe next time the seating might be better.

I booked a table earlier in the day with the understanding (at least my own understanding) that I'd be seated outdoors. I was told that outdoors was fully booked for soccer enthusiasts who'd be watching a Jordan-iraq soccer game, but i gathered that my request could be honored. When I arrived at the bar one hour ahead of the start of the game, I was given a table indoors in a side room. When i refused and asked to speak to the manager, one of the waiters was arrogant and had an attitude - either you take it (the designated table) or leave it. He also refused to give me the manager's number and left me and my guests baffled by his attitude. I tried to seat my three visiting friends from the U.K. on the bar, but was told all the stools were booked, too. We ended up leaving the place and, sadly, with no one in the staff showing any remorse, or apologizing for the attitude of their peer.

Ironically, it was a tourist who recommended it. As others have said, Cantaloupe definitely has one of the finest outdoor decks in the city that offers outstanding views. But this place is no one-trick pony. They have a fully stocked bar with experienced bartenders who know how to prepare specialty cocktails. A great place to sit, relax, and enjoy the sunset with a drink. But stick around for at least some appetizers. Cantaloupe has an eclectic menu of delicious and unusual appetizers, along with some familiar and not so familiar entrees. The portions are generous, and are beautifully presented. The service is excellent, and prices are reasonable. The manager, Ibrahim, (I think?) treats everyone like guests in his home, and my regular waiter, (yes, I went several times) Abdullah was prompt, friendly and efficient...always.
