Ayman Hussein Receives High Praise from Argentine Media: ‘World’s Top Scorer

Argentine newspaper Ole reported on Sunday that “Ayman Hussein demonstrated his exceptional talent in the match, particularly with high balls, as evidenced by his scoring 30 goals in 34 matches in 2024, placing him at the top of the world’s leading scorers.” The report noted that “his statistics surpass those of global stars like France’s Kylian Mbappé, Norway’s Erling Haaland, and England’s Harry Kane, proving that he is truly unstoppable.”

The Argentine newspaper highlighted the significant moments in the player’s career across Iraq, Tunisia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, along with the hardships he faced a decade ago. He was forced to flee his home in Kirkuk due to attacks that completely destroyed it, and his brother, a police officer, was kidnapped and remains missing to this day. These tragedies followed the death of his father in 2008 during terrorist attacks in Baghdad.

The newspaper noted: “Despite all the suffering he endured, the player never gave up. He continued to persevere, striving to achieve his dream of excelling in football and supporting his family. His determination has now made him a standout figure at the Olympic Games.”

Hussein told the British newspaper *The Times*: “Even if I had quit football because of these challenges, it wouldn’t have changed anything. I couldn’t have regained any of those lost things. I thank God for my current situation, having a roof over my head, while most displaced Iraqis live in tents.”
