Baghdad to Host Two New Industrial Cities

The Ministry of Industry and Minerals has obtained official approvals to establish two new industrial cities in Baghdad.

Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Cities Authority at the Ministry, Riyadh Jassim Kazim, said: “One of these two cities is allocated to medium and light industries in the Rashidiya area with an area of ​​(125) dunums, while the other city is located in the Yusufiya area with an area of ​​(174) dunums and will be allocated to pharmaceutical industries,” noting that it will be referred for investment soon, and it is expected that more than (100) parties will apply to invest in it due to the city’s important geographical location. He noted that the industrial cities provide a safe and attractive environment for local, Arab and foreign investors, in addition to their effective role in reducing unemployment rates, stressing that these projects fall within the government’s strategy to support the industrial sector.
