The Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine announced that more than 14 million visitors participated in the Rajab pilgrimage to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).
During a press conference, the shrine administration expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the pilgrimage, including Hussaini service processions and security forces. They praised the high level of awareness and cooperation among the visitors.
Baghdad Operations Command confirmed the success of the security plan implemented to protect the millions of pilgrims who gathered in Al-Kadhimiya. The Ministry of Interior also reported that this year’s pilgrimage witnessed minimal traffic incidents, fires, or rumors compared to previous years.
The Ministry of Transportation played a vital role in facilitating the return of visitors, deploying 350 buses and 11 trains to ensure a smooth transportation process until the last visitor left the holy city.
The commemoration of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim’s martyrdom is one of Iraq’s most significant religious events, attracting millions of pilgrims from across the country and abroad to Al-Kadhimiya. This year’s event highlighted both the spiritual dedication of the participants and the coordinated efforts of various institutions to manage the massive crowds effectively.
The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, conducted a field visit to Al-Kadhimiya to oversee the implementation of the service and security plans for the pilgrimage.
The Al-Kadhimiya Holy Shrine also emphasized the importance of these efforts in showcasing the unity and organizational strength of Iraq in hosting such large-scale religious gatherings.
