Heinous Incident at Tikrit University: Lecturer Kills Security Guard Over finding him Inappropriate with Student

A deeply troubling incident occurred at Tikrit University, where lecturer Omar Falah Abdul Abbas was found to be in an inappropriate relationship with a female student. The lecturer was reportedly seen taking the student in his car and engaging in an inappropriate act on campus grounds. University security was alerted to the situation and set up an ambush to catch them in the act.
Upon noticing the security personnel, the lecturer attempted to flee the scene. In a desperate bid to escape, he ran over security guard Mustafa Al-Jumaili, who was trying to prevent his escape. Al-Jumaili sustained severe internal injuries and tragically passed away after being transferred to the hospital.
In light of the incident, the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research swiftly decided to dismiss Omar Falah Abdul Abbas from his position at Tikrit University. The ministry condemned his actions as “dangerous” and a violation of the integrity expected from public officials.
Tikrit University also acted quickly, arresting the lecturer and handing him over to the judiciary for legal proceedings. The university president took immediate steps to address the situation, ensuring that the conditions surrounding the death of the security guard were followed closely. The president personally visited the hospital in Erbil where the security guard was transferred and ensured that the deceased’s rights were upheld. Additionally, a committee was formed under the university president’s direction to investigate the incident thoroughly.
The tragic death of Mustafa Al-Jumaili has left the university community and the broader public in shock, and the university is committed to ensuring justice for the security guard. The lecturer’s dismissal was followed by swift legal action, and Tikrit University remains focused on supporting the family of the deceased and adhering to the ministerial orders regarding the case.
