Health Ministry Shuts Down Rumors Of Malaria Spreading Across Bahrain

Amid the recent outbreak of mosquitoes around the island, residents have become quite concerned about diseases spreading rapidly. Due to the heavy rainfall over the past month, Bahrain’s witnessed an increase in the mosquito population across the Kingdom.

Rumors have also been circulating that these mosquitoes could be carrying diseases like Malaria, but the Ministry of Health promptly shut down these rumors

Bahrain’s Ministry of Health released this statement

The statement assured residents of Bahrain that no local transmission of malaria has been recorded in the Kingdom since 1979. Although the spread of mosquitoes is worrisome to most, the Kingdom is absolutely malaria free so you folks have nothing to worry about.

The Kingdom is also working to eradicate the mosquito population around the island
