Polite Scam Caller Cons Mother and Daughter Out Of BD176

A mother and daughter lost BD176 just by trusting a polite voice on the phone.

The caller sounded like a bank employee. He was calm, confident, and convincing.

The daughter believed him and shared her and her mother’s bank details, including one-time passwords

Soon after, BD136 vanished from her account and BD40 from her mom’s. Turns out, it was a scam pulled off by two men (now facing trial) with help from someone else. They didn’t hack anything,  just used the shared info to access online banking and withdraw the money.

Let this be a reminder!

No matter how polite or “official” a caller sounds, never share your PINs, passwords, or codes over the phone.

Stay sharp. Scammers are slick — and costly.
