Bahraini astronomer Mohammed Redha Al Asfour always encourages everyone to enjoy the glowing full moon, especially during moonrise and moonset. That’s when the moon hangs low on the horizon, looking extra big and dreamy – perfect for snapping photos or just soaking in the view.

The Harvest Moon is famous for being the full moon nearest to the autumn equinox, which happened on September 22. Its name comes from Native American traditions, when farmers used the moon’s bright light to keep working late into the night.
This year’s moon is also a supermoon, meaning it’s closer to Earth, about 360,000 kilometers away, so it looks even bigger and brighter. Next month, the moon will swing out to its farthest point, so enjoy this up-close show while you can!
