A Bahraini visual designer recently revealed an innovative project, transforming everyday street signs into a remarkable map of Bahrain. This creative endeavor reimagined familiar urban elements, showcasing how small details can contribute to a grander narrative!
Yaqoob Kamal’s innovative approach
Yaqoob Kamal, the visual designer, meticulously collected and extracted hundreds of images of street signs from across Bahrain. He digitally processed these signs, preparing them to be part of a larger, cohesive design.
The making of the street sign map
Yaqoob ingeniously pieced together these individual sign snippets to form a detailed and recognizable map of the entire Kingdom of Bahrain. The collage featured various colored signs, indicating cities and landmarks such as Manama, Muharraq, and the Bahrain International Circuit.
