Observing a troubling scene, residents discovered two dogs, one a large, long-haired husky and another smaller companion, confined to a terrace under direct sunlight. The animals were left without food or water, enduring the intense afternoon heat. The dogs’ cries, particularly the husky’s mournful, baby-like wails, were audible throughout the neighborhood, indicating their prolonged suffering and desperate attempts to seek shelter indoors.

Upon security’s inquiry, the owner initially claimed the dogs were only outside for one hour, leading to the security’s departure. However, the dogs’ ordeal continued throughout the weekend, with their cries persisting from the afternoon into the evening.

Trapped on the terrace in Bahrain’s August humidity and a sweltering forty-five-degree Celsius heat, the animals remained without sustenance, constantly attempting to re-enter the villa. This prolonged neglect deeply troubled the residents, who struggled to comprehend how anyone could disregard their pets’ obvious distress while comfortably relaxing indoors.

Action brought relief

The persistent advocacy of the concerned residents ultimately led to a positive resolution. Following their reports, police intervened, issuing official warning letters to the dog owners. Furthermore, two local dog kennels generously stepped forward, offering their support to ensure the animals’ safety and well-being.
