Bahrain has just announced an official public holiday to commemorate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), marking an important religious occasion across the Kingdom!

The Deputy Prime Minister, His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, issued a circular declaring that Sunday, 15th September 2024, will be a public holiday. All ministries, state departments, and public institutions will close in observance of this holy occasion.
This holiday offers a day for reflection, family time, and community prayer gatherings across Bahrain. As this is a significant date in the Islamic calendar, the Kingdom unites in commemorating the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.
With the public holiday falling on a Sunday, many residents will enjoy a long weekend. Expect an increase in family gatherings, bustling mosques, and a peaceful, reflective atmosphere across Bahrain. It’s a wonderful opportunity to partake in or observe the religious customs, or simply relax with loved ones!
For businesses, while government offices will be closed, malls, restaurants, and entertainment venues will remain open for those looking to unwind and enjoy some leisure time – but make sure you call in advance to avoid any disappointments before heading out!
