Record-Breaking Passenger Growth
Bahrain International Airport is buzzing with activity! In the first half of 2024, the airport welcomed a record 4.6 million passengers, marking an impressive 13.2% growth. Air traffic movements also rose by 9.4%, totaling over 48,000. Cargo operations soared as well, with a 7.19% increase to 189,799 tonnes.

The national carrier has also had a stellar expansion
Gulf Air has been making waves with its latest expansion plans! The airline launched new flights to Guangzhou and Shanghai in China, and Munich in Germany, adding valuable connections to its network. They also resumed routes to Baghdad and Najaf and increased frequencies to popular destinations like Doha, Muscat, Manchester, Milan, and Rome. New seasonal destinations to Alula, Geneva, and Rhodes have also been a hit!
The airline saw a significant 8.5% increase in passenger volume, now at 3.1 million, with a strong passenger load factor of 77.9%. Cargo traffic also grew, reaching 41,000 tons, an increase of 3.5%.
