The momentous signing ceremony took place at the Awal Private Terminal, coinciding with the official launch of Bahrain’s National Aviation Strategy 2026–2027. Speaking at the launch, HE Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, emphasized that the new National Aviation Strategy is a cornerstone of Bahrain’s ambition to strengthen its position as a leading global aviation hub. The strategy aims to expand Bahrain’s air destination network from an impressive 66 to 100 destinations by 2030, transforming Bahrain International Airport into a global center of excellence for commercial and private aviation, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) services, and logistics.
