If you’ve stepped outside lately and felt like you’ve entered a sauna…you’re not imagining it. Bahrain is currently facing some of the hottest and most humid weather of the year, right on schedule as August begins.
But with humidity levels spiking up to 90%, the “feels-like” temperature has been hitting a blistering 50°C in some areas, especially during the midday hours.
From Tuesday onwards, the forecast doesn’t offer much relief. Expect:
Hot and occasionally humid conditions
Variable winds of 5 to 10 knots, shifting to easterly winds at 10 to 15 knots by afternoon
Wave heights ranging between 1 to 3 feet
Humidity remaining high, especially during the evenings
This weather pattern is expected to continue through the end of the week, keeping both days and nights uncomfortably warm and sticky.
August is widely known across Bahrain and the Gulf as the peak of the hot season. The intense heat is compounded by high sea moisture, which raises humidity levels and amplifies the heat stress on the body. It’s not just about the temperature — it’s about how heavy and draining the air feels.
Health professionals are urging residents to take extra care:
Avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours (11 AM – 4 PM)
Stay hydrated throughout the day
Limit physical activity outdoors, especially in the afternoon
Use light clothing, stay in shaded or air-conditioned spaces, and keep an eye out for signs of heat exhaustion
With the heat here to stay (at least for now), taking the right precautions can go a long way in staying safe and comfortable
