Bahrain Is Working On A Rail-Crossing To Connect Saudi And Bahrain

Hera Shabbir

In a move that promises to significantly enhance connectivity and foster closer ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, construction is underway for a new 25-kilometre causeway that will serve both road and rail traffic. This ambitious project is set to follow the alignment of the existing King Fahd Causeway, but with one key difference, it will offer a faster and more efficient route between the two neighboring nations.

The second causeway, known as King Hamad Causeway will feature a railway track for faster travel!

The new causeway will span 25 kilometers, mirroring the path of the King Fahd Causeway, which has been the backbone of Bahrain-Saudi connectivity since its opening in 1986. However, this new addition is set to revolutionize the journey with a dedicated rail line, making it the first of its kind in the region. People will now be able to travel between the countries vehicle free, and enjoy a smooth journey on the soon to be built trains.
