Miss Universe Bahrain was back yet again this year with an intense competition for the crown. From different artists, philanthropists, models, and artists, Bahrain’s fleet of the 2023 Miss Universe contestants was far from ordinary! Last year’s winner, Evlin Khalifa lit up the stage at Miss Universe 2022, and made Bahrain totally proud of her efforts. This year however welcomes a new face that is absolutely fit for the role!

Apart from the new faces, this year’s winner Lujane Yacoub was also a participant in last year’s competition held in the Kingdom. Although she didn’t take the win in 2022, that didn’t stop Lujane from trying again in 2023, and taking home the crown! Daughter of a Bahraini father and American mother, Lujane is originally from Hamala, Bahrain, and is an enthusiastic cosplay artist, theater actress, dancer, art teacher and philanthropist!

Apart from now representing Bahrain at the Miss Universe Pageant in El Salvador in November, everyone’e eyes are on Lujane for all the right reasons. Each contestant was asked a question about their country, and Lujane’s answer won the hearts of many. When asked,”What is the biggest misconception about your country and how do you plan to correct it?” Lujane absolutely slayed with her answer stating: “The biggest misconception about Bahrain and the Middle East is that it’s a place of oppression – women don’t have rights and this is far from the truth. Women are taught to thrive, to embrace their strengths, and go for their ambitions, and women – they are the true pearls of the country. And that would be my first goal as Miss Universe, is to clear up this misconception.” Everyone is more than ecstatic to see this queen light up the stage at the 72nd Edition of Miss Universe pageant.
