Bahrain, brace yourselves! The Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications just dropped a cold wave alert, and it’s about to get SERIOUSLY chilly.
Starting tonight, Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Kingdom will feel the icy grip of a polar air mass sweeping in, bringing a sharp dip in temperatures and some seriously strong winds.
If you thought Bahrain was all about the warm sun, think again! Get ready for a sharp decline in temperatures, below 10°C, starting tonight! Those strong northwesterly winds will make it feel even colder, so bundle up if you’re heading out. No boating, beach days, or water activities for now, as the winds will kick up the sea and make things pretty rough out there.
The lowest February temperature ever recorded was a brisk 7.2°C way back on February 8, 1950! So, this cold wave is definitely packing a punch.
It’s time to break out those jackets, scarves, and warm hats, because you’ll want to be cozy! Limit your time outdoors and keep warm—this isn’t the weather for a light sweater. Also make sure to avoid heading out on the water, as those strong winds will make maritime activities dangerous.
The cold wave is expected to hang around throughout the week, so keep an eye out for more updates as the Meteorological Directorate continues to monitor the situation
Stay warm, Bahrain!
