Here’s everything you need to know about the latest enforcement to avoid getting in trouble!

What’s the new regulation?

As of February 9, 2025, scooters and similar vehicles are now banned from main roads, vehicle lanes, road shoulders, emergency lanes and designated stopping areas.

This new rule aims to prevent traffic disruptions and ensure the safety of both riders and drivers on Bahrain’s busy roads.

Since the new regulation has been out…

Since the enforcement of the new ban, 170 unlicensed scooters have already been seized and impounded, with legal action taken against their users. Authorities continue to monitor the roads to ensure compliance with the new regulations.

What happens if you violate the new ban?

Well, if you’re caught riding an unlicensed scooter in those prohibited areas, you can expect immediate confiscation and impoundment of the scooter, legal action taken against you, as well as a possible fine and/or penalty.

The General Directorate of Traffic has emphasised the importance of following these rules to maintain order and safety on Bahrain’s roads!
