The captivating designs for Bahrain’s pavilion at Osaka 2025 have been revealed

In an exciting revelation, esteemed architect Lina Ghotmeh, alongside her esteemed Paris-based studio, Lina Ghotmeh – Architecture, has unveiled the captivating design for the National Pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain, destined for Expo Osaka 2025 on the Architecture Daily site.

The island’s heritage takes center stage in this design

In a beautiful ode to Bahrain’s maritime heritage, the pavilion embraces the nation’s history as a bustling maritime crossroads. Inspired by the graceful dhow boats, symbols of Bahrain’s exceptional craftsmanship and boat-building expertise, the design is set to capture the essence of the kingdom’s rich manufacturing legacy so elegantly!

The pavilion also significantly aligns with the theme of the expo

Osaka 2025 will be centered around ‘Designing Future Society For Our Lives’, with it’s three sub themes which include, ‘Saving Lives’, ‘Empowering Lives’, and ‘Connecting Lives’, and is set to welcome over 28 million visitors from 150 countries across the world.

Through collaborating with Bahraini design studio, Shepherd Studio, the exhibit is set to give visitors a comprehensive glimpse into Bahrain’s world!

Crafted primarily from wood with a recyclable aluminum outer layer, the structure shows off a balance of tradition and modernity – they’ve also looked into incorporating innovative cooling techniques that are inspired by ancient practices.
