The Kingdom officially launched the Bahrain Electronic Passport on Sunday
The new e-passport features a security chip that stores the biometric information of the passport holder. This includes details of fingerprints, face detection, eye-scanners, and more.

The e-passports will be split into four categories of the ordinary, diplomatic, special, and travel document passport, which will all have validity of 10 years.

As reported by Arabian Business, the new passport will remain the striking red, the primary color of the Bahraini flag, and will feature a gold emblem. The bottom of the passport will include an icon that contains the biometric chip of each passport holder.
