The Muharraq Municipal Council and the Ministry of Works recently met to discuss several road projects, with a key highlight the plan for a new overpass designed to provide a direct route from Manama to Bahrain Airport, aiming to ease traffic flow.
During a services and utilities committee meeting, Ministry Representatives updated Council Members, chaired by Mr. Abdulqader Al Sayyed, on the progress of current and future projects in Muharraq. The outlined schemes included the fourth Muharraq–Manama bridge, starting from Busaiteen, and a new structure at the Falcon Monument junction.
The new structure at the Falcon Monument Junction is set to allow drivers to head directly to the airport without navigating through the smaller streets. Also discussed were two additional bridges: one from the middle of Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Bridge to Avenue 105 in Busaiteen (Al Sayh), and another connecting Avenue 105 to the junction of the road leading to the airport and Al Ghous Highway.

The Ministry also presented plans for enhancing existing roads, which include resurfacing, improving drainage systems, and adding rainwater outlets. Approximately two-thirds of the requested works in this category have been completed, with the remaining items scheduled for a later phase.
