Bahrain Deports Over 300 Illegal Workers Following April Inspections

Bahrain has been stepping up its efforts to maintain a legal and regulated workforce, with the recent actions taken by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).

Inspections continue across the country

This month alone, the LMRA carried out over 3,667 inspection campaigns across Bahrain’s various governorates. These checks were aimed at ensuring that all workers currently comply with the country’s labour laws, and no violations are taking place.

The recent inspections have resulted in 52 workers being detained for violating labour regulations, with a total of 341 illegal workers being deported following the enforcement efforts.

The country is committed to integrity

The LMRA’s proactive approach is all a part of Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to upholding a legal, transparent and fair labour market across the island. These investigations and the consequences help ensure that all workers are properly documented and that employers are adhering to the proper regulations of the country.

There will be more inspections to come

With more inspections planned, the LMRA is sending a clear message that Bahrain is serious about maintaining a fair and orderly labour market – Employers and workers alike are encouraged to stay informed and comply with the country’s labour laws to avoid any similar consequences in the future!
