The awards were accepted in Madrid by Eyad Ismaeel, Vice President of Facility Management at BAC, and celebrated by none other than Khalid Hussain Taqi, Chairman of Gulf Air Group, who called this moment a “proud achievement” for Bahrain.
Even Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, gave BIA a shout-out: “Cleanliness plays a huge role in customer satisfaction, and Bahrain has set a new benchmark.”

Bahrain International Airport has recently unveiled “Concordia”, an awe-inspiring stained-glass installation by renowned artist Sir Brian Clarke. Spanning an incredible 34 meters wide and 17 meters high, this stunning piece is one of the largest stained-glass installations in the world, made up of 127 handcrafted panels weighing a total of 32 tons!
Inspired by the beauty of Islamic geometry, the artwork took 2.5 years to complete, with glass mouth-blown in Germany by 5 artisans and assembled by a 21-person team over 43 days.
