Get ready for a feast! Bahrain has gone all out stocking up for Eid Al Adha, bringing in more than 30,000 livestock and a massive 6,800 tonnes of meat to make sure everyone celebrates in true Eid Al Adha style.
Officials confirmed that slaughterhouses like Al Hamala Central and Bahrain Livestock Company in Sitra are fully licensed and overseen by expert veterinarians. These pros conduct thorough health checks both before and after animals are processed, guaranteeing all meat gets a stamp of approval before hitting the market.
Veterinary doctors have been stationed to inspect livestock, collaborating closely with slaughterhouse vets to fast-track inspections. Every batch of imported live animals and meat undergoes rigorous laboratory testing to verify safety.

Approximately 25 veterinary doctors and technicians are on duty nonstop at key entry points, including Khalifa Bin Salman Port, Bahrain International Airport, and King Fahd Causeway.
They monitor animal and meat imports and exports, working with approved importers who follow all the rules. This high level of import activity is thanks to Bahrain’s smart strategy of sourcing from various places and licensing reliable traders, keeping supplies stable and safe.
