Bahrain’s Handball Team Secured The Asian Cup Title And A Spot In Germany 2027

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s national handball team officially made history this Friday, January 30, 2026, by securing their first-ever Asian Handball Championship title. In a thrilling final held in the State of Kuwait, they triumphed over rivals Qatar with a decisive 29–26 victory, marking a monumental moment for Bahraini sports.

Bahrain started strong, establishing a comfortable 14–11 lead by half-time, showcasing their early dominance. Upon landing, the squad was met with a warm reception at the airport by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who praised the players, coaching staff, and the Bahrain Handball Federation for their relentless dedication to the Kingdom.

The celebrations reached a new peak at the Palace, where HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa personally welcomed the champions to honor their unforgettable victory at the 22nd Asian Handball Championship. In a powerful gesture of royal appreciation, HM the King directed that housing units be granted to the members of the national team!
