A reckless driver is going to pay up after causing a traffic accident that left a father with a permanent disability and his children emotionally scarred. The second High Civil Court, backed by the supreme civil court of appeal, ordered the driver and their insurance company to cough up nearly BHD 10,000 in compensation to the victim and his family.

The court didn’t hold back in its assessment, concluding that the driver’s actions inflicted both physical and psychological trauma on the family. The accident not only led to significant medical bills for the father but also caused lasting emotional distress for his two young children.

Extent of injuries detailed the severity of the accident

The attorney representing the family detailed the extensive injuries sustained by the father. He suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, a broken tooth, and severe pain and swelling in his left knee, all requiring surgery and extensive rehabilitation!

All evidence was weighed in court by officials

The court of first instance meticulously examined the medical evidence, revealing that the father’s injuries included abrasions on his face and forehead, a 5 cm scar on his left knee, and restricted knee movement.

Based on these findings, the court determined that the father’s permanent disability resulting from the accident was 15%.
