His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, recently issued a circular announcing the official holiday for Ashura. This means many government offices across the Kingdom will observe a special long weekend to mark the occasion.
The circular detailed that ministries, government departments, agencies, and public institutions across Bahrain would observe a two-day closure. This included Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6, giving everyone a chance to commemorate the significant event.

Since Saturday already falls on a standard weekend day, the circular generously included a compensatory holiday! This extra day off will be observed on Monday, July 7, ensuring everyone gets their full two days off, no matter the calendar’s quirks!
