In another recent crackdown, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) conducted a series of inspection campaigns between April 27 and May 3. These efforts led to the detention of 18 workers found in violation of regulations and the deportation of 116 others.
These inspection campaigns, totaling 784 visits, uncovered multiple breaches of regulatory laws. These violations primarily concerned the LMRA and residency laws within the Kingdom of Bahrain. Authorities have confirmed that appropriate legal actions were taken to address each identified violation.
In addition to the violations the authority carried out 774 inspection visits to various shops across all governorates, along with 10 joint inspection campaigns. These joint efforts included seven campaigns in the Capital Governorate, two in the Northern Governorate, and one in the Southern Governorate.
The Ministry of Interior, through the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), and the Governorate’s respective Police Directorate, participated in these campaigns. The Authority has committed to ongoing collaboration with government bodies to boost inspection campaigns across all governorates within the Kingdom.
This collaboration aims to tackle any violations or practices that might undermine the labor market’s stability and competitiveness. It also seeks to protect the economic and social well-being of the Kingdom.

The LMRA has once again urged the public to assist governmental efforts in combating illegal labor practices. Citizens and residents can report violations via the electronic form available on the authority’s website (www.lmra.gov.bh), by calling the authority’s call center on 17506055, or through the government’s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
