Canada Celebrates Lebanese Heritage Month At Ottawa’s Parliament

Ottawa just got a whole lot more festive as Canada kicked off Lebanese Heritage Month at Parliament! The courtyard was buzzing with music, flags, and a whole lot of love for Lebanon, as crowds gathered to celebrate their roots and community spirit.

Parliament courtyard turned into a Lebanese party

People from all over Ottawa and Montreal showed up, waving Lebanese flags and singing along to the national anthem, “Kulluna lil-watan”. The Parliament courtyard was transformed into a sea of red, white, and green, with everyone joining in to wish each other a happy Lebanese Heritage Month.

Leaders and community stars made it official

Lina Metlege Diab, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, organized this epic celebration with major support from the Lebanese Embassy. Lina called it one of the greatest honors of her public life to sponsor and lead the bill that made Lebanese Heritage Month official in both the House of Commons and the Senate.

Ministers, community reps, and media personalities all gathered to watch the Lebanese flag rise high above Parliament Hill—a proud moment for everyone there.The party didn’t stop at the flag-raising! The crowd kept the energy going with a lively dabke dance, wrapping up the day with music, laughter, and a whole lot of Lebanese pride.
