Backlash Erupts Over Pre-Wedding Celebration Inside Jeita Grotto

A pre-wedding bash inside the legendary Jeita Grotto has everyone talking—and not in a good way! Videos of the celebration, complete with music, dancing, and over 100 guests, have sparked a wave of online backlash, with many worried about the impact on this natural wonder.

Party took over the grotto

On the night of the event, the usually serene Jeita Grotto was transformed into a lively party spot. Guests in suits and dresses danced to a string orchestra, while spotlights lit up the cave’s epic stalactites and stalagmites. The celebration even included boat rides through the candle-lit underground lake, making it a night to remember for the attendees—but maybe not for the cave itself.

Rules went out the window

Normally, visitors to Jeita Grotto are banned from using phones or taking photos to protect the delicate rock formations. But during this party, phones were out, cameras were rolling, and the cave was buzzing with excitement. Clips from the event quickly went viral, showing guests clapping, cheering, and filming every moment, turning the grotto into a full-on party hall for the night.

Backlash hit hard

Social media users voiced their concerns, calling the event a risk to the grotto’s fragile beauty. The debate is still raging, with many calling for stricter protection of Lebanon’s iconic cave.
