Lebanon’s Parliament has finally opened the roads leading to Nejmeh Square in Downtown Beirut, after years of being blocked off for “security reasons.”
The parliamentary guards confirmed that roads from “Banks Street” to the heart of the city are now accessible to everyone, marking a fresh start for Beirut after the new president and government took office.

These roads were blocked since the 2019 protests, with concrete barriers set up to keep protestors away from Parliament.
Now, as the barriers are coming down, traffic is gradually returning to the streets, bringing a sense of normalcy back to the city.
People expressed their happiness over the roads reopening, seeing it as a great step for boosting tourism!
