Mayyas Delivers Tribute To South Lebanon In Stunning Performance In Beirut!
The dance troupe Mayyas, renowned internationally after winning America’s Got Talent in 2022, performed “Qumi” for the first time in its home country, Lebanon, last night at Beirut Waterfront.
The performance, skillfully choreographed by Nadim Cherfan, showcased Lebanese culture and heritage.
Unlike its typical mythological and fantastical performances, this piece offered a “realistic” portrayal of the everyday life of Lebanese people.
Mayyas captivated audiences with a heartfelt tribute to South Lebanon during its performance, featuring “Ana Al Janoub” on the stage video wall, accompanied by smoke and flying embers.
The interpretive dance included a dialogue between two dancers, symbolizing Beirut and the South, creating a powerful and mesmerizing spectacle.
