Algeria has stepped up to address Lebanon’s acute energy crisis, announcing that it will immediately supply fuel for the nation’s power plants.
This announcement comes after Lebanon’s state electricity company, Electricité du Liban (EDL), declared its supplies exhausted.
On Saturday, EDL reported a complete nationwide power outage, affecting critical infrastructure, including airports.

In response to this critical situation, Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui informed Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has committed to providing fuel to help restore electricity.
This act of solidarity follows in the footsteps of Iraq, which has also been aiding Lebanon by supplying fuel to support its energy sector.
