Haifa Wehbe Sues Egyptian Doctor For Using Her Image Without Permission

Haifa Wehbe has filed a lawsuit at the Cairo Economic Court against an Egyptian doctor, accusing him of using her image without permission. She is seeking five million Egyptian pounds in compensation, which is around 106,000 US dollars.

Visit Was for Medical Consultation Only

According to her lawyer, Sherif Hafez, Haifa visited the clinic in April 2023 strictly for a medical consultation. There was no agreement allowing the use of her name, image, or presence for any advertising or promotional purposes.

Limited Filming With No Usage Rights

During the visit, two short videos were filmed for one time use only. No contracts were signed that would permit the videos to be reused, published, or shared at a later time.

Alleged Rights Violation on Social Media

The doctor later allegedly reposted the videos on social media without Haifa’s consent. Her legal team considers this an illegal use of her performance and a clear violation of her artistic and moral rights.
