Lebanese Authorities In Bekaa Seize Unsafe Garlic Bound For Restaurants

Authorities in Bekaa recently uncovered over 20 tons of garlic stored in unsafe, unhygienic conditions. The garlic, already rotten, was being peeled and soaked in makeshift tents set up for Syrian refugees. Shockingly, this contaminated garlic was on its way to restaurants in Bekaa and Mount Lebanon, putting countless people’s health at risk.

Immediate Action

The public prosecutor acted fast, shutting down the unlicensed warehouse and launching investigations against those responsible. Authorities made it clear that storing and selling food in such dangerous conditions won’t be tolerated, sending a strong message to anyone trying to cut corners.
